Educators Alignment to State Standards

Our entire instructional program is designed and revolves around state content standards. Our pre-testing system identifies specific state content standards in which a student is deficient and our tutors are goaled to work on these areas during tutoring sessions. A to Z spends significant time training our tutors to work on identified state content standards, and are provided direct links to their state's Department of Education website and the lessons and resources therein to further ensure state alignment.

The Curriculum Director at A to Z Tutoring, also a certified teacher located in our corporate office, has reviewed through state content menus and created crosswalks to skills covered in both the curriculum and assessments to be utilized by our tutors. These crosswalks link the identified state standards in which a child is deficient to lesson plans, materials and assessment tools to ensure direct alignment. In addition, re-aligning content as needed annually guarantees state-alignment even when state content standards undergo changes. Through our web-based system, tutors are able to see the alignments and pull content from our research-based reading/language arts and math curriculum, as well as other provider-created lessons, which are matched to the state content standards for each grade level.
