How often does my child need tutoring?

We recommend a minimum of two hours of tutoring a week. Anything less than that is generally ineffective and we don’t want you to waste your money. The more hours your child spends with one of our tutors, the faster they will catch up and no longer need tutoring services. For students who are literally failing subject, plan on three to four hours a week.

How long will my child require tutoring?

The length of time your child will require tutoring is highly dependent on the student’s need, abilities and how far they are behind when we start working with them. On average, most of our clients tutor with our company four to six months. Keep in mind, contracting for more hours initially, may save you money in the long run because your student will catch up faster. We contract with our clients on a month by month basis.

What is the hourly rate for tutoring?

We offer various tutoring packages based on the amount of hours you contract for each month. Our hourly rates drop the more hours you pre-purchase. In general, our rates range from $40-$55 per hour.

How do you ensure quality tutors?

Almost all of our tutors are state certified teachers who teach in the local school systems. They are professional educators, trained in the latest teaching methodologies and curriculum tools. Best of all, they are familiar with local standards and assignments and can offer an “insiders” approach to tutoring with the goal of helping your child succeed in local classrooms.

We do hire some degreed professionals for specialty subjects like advanced math, chemistry or biology. These tutors have degrees in math or are nurses who are extremely qualified to tutor in these subject areas.

If at any time you are dissatisfied with your tutor for any reason, we will immediately substitute that teacher for one that better meets your requirements.

How do you screen your tutors?

Tutors go through a rigorous training and screening process with our A to Z human resource department. We run multiple criminal background checks on all of our tutors and require proof of teaching certification or college degrees.

What if I don’t want the tutor to come to my home?

No problem. We will tutor anywhere you want us to tutor, as long as it is a safe place for our tutors. We do require that an adult chaperone be present for all tutoring sessions.

I have multiple children who need tutoring, do you offer discounts?

Yes. Call our office for details. But we try and make tutoring expenses reasonable for larger families.

I am a teacher or a social worker, do you offer a discount?

Yes. Teachers and social workers are special public servants who work for reduced salaries to help kids in our communities. We want to give you a break on price to say thanks!

What kind of educational testing do you offer?

Link to assessments and testing section.

Does my child qualify for free tutoring?

Maybe. If you are a foster parent or parent who is participating in the social services system in your area, we may be able to arrange for state funded tutoring for your child or foster child. Also, if you child attends a school in its second year of school improvement under the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, you may qualify for free A to Z tutoring paid for by your local school district. Call our office for details.
