It depends. We provide mostly in-person tutoring for individual students in the child's home or at an alternate location. Group tutoring is an option in some settings while online tutoring/therapy or face to face therapy are also available in certain states. Please inquire with your state's representative for further information. Regardless of format, all scheduling is done between you and your family, making our program very flexible for both tutor and client.
Tutor qualifications vary depending on state. At a minimum, applicants must have completed 60+ college hours and be able to pass the state required background check.
Therapists are required to have an OT or SLP license, a Department of Education license and a current state background check. Please check with your representative to see if your state requires additional documents not listed here.
Once you click on the "First Time Tutor/Therapist" link and fill out an online Tutor/Therapist Information Form, you will receive a notification that your initial information has been received. If A to Z is currently in need of tutors/therapists in your region, you will be contacted by your regional director who will give you information on completing the application and hiring process.
Hours per week will be determined by the number of clients you are working with. Most tutors/therapists provide between five to ten hours a week of service. This number of hours also depends on the availability of students in your area.
Although our recruitment process is immediate, it may be days, weeks or even months before you receive your first client. Because we work primarily with various government programs, our schedule for tutoring/therapy is often dictated by funding cycles. Priority for client assignments is given to those tutors/therapists who are passionate about helping kids and eager to get started. We only hire tutors/therapists in areas where we expect to be receiving students soon
Most questions about our company, how we operate and our expectations for tutors/therapists will be answered in our training. Questions can also be answered by the regional program coordinator or director in your area. You can view a listing of regional contact information by going to our "Contact Us" page.
